Situation 1: Rina and her brother
Sahil are watching their favourite
show on television. They are feeling

hungry. Rina wants to order pizza
while Sahil wants Chinese food.
They don’t have enough money.

They can order only one kind
of food item and share with
each other.

Both Rina and Sahil want their
favourite dish. They start arguing
and calling each other names.

Rina and Sahil cannot agree on what to order. They are in conflict.

Situation 2: Have you watched the movie ‘Shrek’? Do you remember that Fiona holds
a big secret in her heart? She wants to tell Shrek that she too is an ogre like him but fears

what he may think of her.

Fiona is in conflict with herself.

When you cannot decide between two
choices, you are in conflict with yourself.

When two or more people do not agree on
something or cannot get along with each
other, they are in conflict.
