FAB SHOP STEPS UP
FOR PROJECT X
At the VECA-Seattle Fabrication Shop, we frequently get special requests, as most of the builds that leave our doors are custom made to exact specifications. These light-pole bollards were a prime example.
Typically, when we get custom orders, we look at past projects that could be a good foundation to start from. In the case of these light pole bases, we have done several different types over the years – therefore we had a good base to reference. We worked closely with site and asked all the pertinent questions to get exact details of what was needed and began the building process. We worked in the rebar cages, cut the Sonotube, verified different input and output layouts, as well as added picking eyes for ease of handling.
In the end, this style of order isn’t work that we typically do, but we are capable of work outside what is expected from a shop that primarily handles electrical work. If a jobsite is on a tight timetable or can’t get a response back from the company doing the work they need, we’re happy to help and build it to the standard that VECA is known for.
