Fishing Tips for November/December/January
Captain Leon Dana's Fishing Forecast
With water temperatures finally dropping, trout and flounder will be making their way
into our area. Live Mullet or shrimp work great for these fish as does artificial swim
baits. Tide is really not a factor but more working the banks of the waterway as that’s
where their prey will be. Redfish will continue to be caught near oyster beds and creek
mouths. Popncorks with a live bait is what I prefer to use as it keeps the bait above
snags. Don’t forget Black Drum will also be here and they love shrimp on the bottom.
Drum tend to school in deeper holes so if you find one, fish it slow as drum are not as
active as other fish so it takes time to get them to feed. Good luck and I’ll see you in the
Valley.
