Step9. Create the mount point
[root@sun ~]# mkdir /lvm1
[root@sun ~]# mount /dev/vg3/lv1 /lvm1
Step10. Create any file / directory
[root@sun ~]# cd /lvm1
[root@sun lvm1]# touch t1 t2 t3
[root@sun lvm1]# lvdisplay
Step11. To increase the logical volume size
[root@sun ~]# lvextend -L +100M /dev/vg3/lv1
Extending logical volume lv1 to 400.00 MB
Logical volume lv1 successfully resized
[root@sun ~]# lvdispaly
Step12. The resize information update to the kernel
[root@sun ~]# resize2fs /dev/vg3/lv1
[root@sun ~]# df –h
Step13. To decrease the logical volume size
[root@sun ~]# umount /lvm1
[root@sun ~]# resize2fs -f /dev/vg3/lv1 150M
[root@sun ~]# e2fsck -f /dev/vg3/lv1
[root@sun ~]# resize2fs /dev/vg3/lv1 150M
[root@sun ~]# lvreduce -L 150M /dev/vg3/lv1
[root@sun ~]# mount /dev/vg3/lv1 /lvm1
[root@sun ~]# lvdisplay
Step14. To remove logical volume
[root@sun ~]# umount /lvm1
[root@sun ~]# lvremove /dev/vg3/lv1
Do you really want to remove active logical volume "lv1"? [y/n]: y
Step15. To increase the Physical volume size
[root@sun ~]# pvcreate /dev/sda13
Step16. To increase the volume group size
[root@sun ~]#vgextend vg3 /dev/sda13
Step16. To decrease the volume group size
[root@sun ~]#vgreduce vg3 /dev/sda13
Step17. To remove the Physical Volume
[root@sun ~]#pvremove /dev/sda13
