TEAM MALAWI’S PREPARATIONS
FOR THE GAMES
Team Malawi conducted three
camps in preparation for the
Lilongwe 2022 AUSC Region 5
youth games. The first camping, which
was to select athletes in all categories took
place from Sunday June 5 to Friday June 17,
2022 in Blantyre where 400 athletes in
di erent sporting codes participated and
after the two weeks 293 athletes were
selected.
The second camping was from September
18 to October 2 in Lilongwe with 305
athletes from di erent sporting disciplines
competing for selection.
12 women footballers who did not partici-
pate in the first camp were added to the
initial 293 athletes who were identified from
the initial camp in Blantyre. The third and
final camping took place in Blantyre from
Monday 14 November 14 2020 before
team Malawi left the actual games in Lilon-
gwe. Team Malawi left for Lilongwe for the
