Eddie  was  born  in  Muskegon,  Michigan  on  December  17,  1 91 6  and
            moved to Plymouth in  1920.  He started school at Central which  had
            grades  kindergarten  through  twelve  at  that  time.  During  his  school
            years  he  played  Varsity  football  and  was  on  the  track  team.  He
            graduated in  1935.

            After  high  school  he  worked  at  Pontiac  Motors  in  Pontiac  before
            going  into  the  Army  in  April  of  1 9 4 2.  He  served  with  the  8 25th
            Army Engineers in  the European  theatre of operations which  included
            five  campaigns.  Discharged  in  December  of  1945,  he  returned  to
            Pontiac  Motors  but  left  there  to  get  into  the  Heating  and  Air
            Conditioning field.

            In  August  of  1 946 he  married Geraldine  R.  Burgett.  They  have  two
            sons.  Chuck  is a  teacher and  varsity swim coach  for both boys  and
            girls  at  Plymouth  Salem.  Larry  is  an  active  member  of our  club  and
            now   owns  and  operates  Olson  Heating  and  Air  Conditioning,  Inc.
            which  Eddie  founded in  1956.  They are  fortunate to have  two  very
            special  daughters -in -law,  Linda  and  Janet,  and  are  the  proud
            grandparents of four grandchildren.

            Eddie  is  a  Past  Commander  of  the  Plymouth  Mayflower  Post,
            Veterans  of  Foreign  Wars.  He  is  a  member  of  the  Plymouth  First
            Baptist Church  where he has served as Deacon,  Trustee and Building
            Chairman  of the present church.

            Eddie  joined  the  Plymouth  Rotary  Club  in  1977.  He  has  worked
            through  the  Barbecue  committee  to  become  chairman  and  his  son,
            Larry, was chairman of last years very sucessful Barbecue.

            Because  the  Polio -Plus  project  is  special  to  Eddie  he  is  proud  to
            have  been  President  during  our  very  successful  campaign.   His
            leadership  and  hard  work  have  helped  the  Plymouth  Rotary  Club
            continue  to be a great club.
