Needed Changes
• High quality, integrated, timely retrieval services for when a patient
needs to be transferred to receive higher level care to meet their needs.
• Strong consumer participation and engagement.
• By supporting the State Government's role delineation direction, that is focused
on stopping the duplication of every service at every facility, by locating more
expensive, more complex services at fewer facilities and support for people to
get there through better transport and retrieval services, including repatriation
back to home.
• Evidence based/health outcome focused planning, funding and provider model
that includes the community, all levels of Government, all funders and all
providers. This would include there being only one funder/purchaser for Primary
care services in the areas under consideration, being Primary Health Tasmania.
