2. YOU PRODUCE COMPELLING CONTENT
Your aim is to produce radio shows that people want to listen to. Compelling content is
content that is professionally produced, involves presenters who are well informed and
familiar with the subject or topic, and involves passionate discussion.
As a radio presenter or producer you should aim to tell your audience something they
don’t already know. If your content is well produced and interesting it will compel your
listeners to tune in live or via podcast.
3. ALWAYS ACT PROFESSIONALLY
Being professional sets a standard that will give you and your station credibility in the audience
and sponsor’s eyes.
So what does it mean to be professional? Professionalism involves properly planning the format
of your show and being thoroughly prepared for your on-air performance.
All scripts should be completed and rehearsed. Interview questions should be based on
thorough research and accurate information. All stings, promos, and commercials should be
creative and be produced at good audio levels.
