R ADIO?
Listening to live radio is a way many people get their daily news, entertainment,
gossip, sports news and music, especially when they are on the go.
Some of the most listened to radio stations are those that broadcast talk shows where
presenters, guests and listeners discuss a topical issue and interact over talkback.
Radio ratings, or the percentage of radio listeners tuned into a given station, count how
many people listen during a given period of time. This is important information for radio
stations because they use it to show evidence of the popularity of their station or specific
shows, to sponsors.
The greater the listening audience the more attractive the radio station will be to
sponsors who are prepared to spend money with the station to connect with their
audience.
