6 FOOTSCRAY LIVE - A NEXT GEN FM PROJECT

          TEA CHER AD VICE

          STUDENT MEDIA CREW TRAINING AND

          PREPARATION

FOOTSCRAY LIVE is a radio station that will broadcast 24 hours-a-day to your community,
across Australia and the world, in December this year.

STUDENTS WILL WORK IN MEDIA TEAMS

FOOTSCRAY LIVE will uniquely broadcast radio shows co-hosted and produced by your
          students.

To reach their goals students will work in media teams.

Each team will consist of five students who will be responsible for presenting, producing, and
promoting five X 45 minute radio programs, to an audience that they will identify and grow.

          MEDIA TEAM TRAINING

To prepare, a group of 30 students (a.k.a Senior Producers) will undergo two days of
          practical training.

At the completion of their training, the Senior Producers will put what they learnt into
practice by working together to pre-record six hours of radio about their school, Footscray
          City College/Footscray Learning Precinct.

This content will be repurposed as podcasts and replayed during FOOTSCRAY LIVE WEEK in
          December.

EACH STUDENT WILL GET A TOTAL LIVE RADIO EXPERIENCE

During this project each member of a media team will have the opportunity to experience
the role of Presenter, Producer and Marketing Co-ordinator required to produce their shows.

          ATTRACTING PARTNERS AND SPONSORS

As part of this project, prospective station partners and sponsors will be approached to raise
money for a charity nominated by the school, for the school media department, and to cover
          the basic costs of production.

Where possible students will be provided with the opportunity to be involved in this process.
