TERRAVITA WOMEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION CACTUS GEMS BY-LAWS
ARTICLE I – NAME
The name of the association shall be, “Terravita Women’s Golf Association,” also referred to as “TWGA Cactus Gems.”
The purpose of the TWGA Cactus Gems is:
• to promote good fellowship of its members
ARTICLE II – PURPOSE
• to promote and conserve the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf, as embodied in its ancient and honorable traditions
• to encourage conformance with the USGA Rules of Golf, by creating a representative authority
• to maintain a uniform system of handicapping, as set forth in the World Handicap System
• to provide an authoritative body to govern and conduct association
competitions
ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Membership shall be available to all women members of Terravita Golf Club in good standing.
Section 2. Each new member applying for the first time shall have a current established USGA handicap of 40 or below.
Section 3. The payment of annual dues, as determined by the TWGA Cactus Gems Board of Directors, shall constitute assent to the terms and provisions of the Association’s By-Laws. Annual dues are to be paid by July 31, unless extraordinary circumstances, as determined by the Board of Directors, warrants a delay.
Section 4. Monies collected from the payment of annual dues must be used within the fiscal year for golf-related expenses, as set forth in the budget; the only exception being an appropriated amount set aside in the budget to adequately start the next fiscal year.
