From the Vice Presidents…

                                        st
                        – Wes Bearden, 1 Vice President
Thank you for allowing me to serve as your 1st Vice President. This has been a good year for NCISS!

I have been busy helping facilitate and host our first legislative round table call. I am happy to report
that we had over 30 associations join in the call and participate. This call is meant to accomplish two
objectives. First, to create tangible value for our association members who have been supportive of
the association. Second, to create a framework to collaborate on new and exciting legislative goals and opportunities. I
encourage you to read the summaries of the call. But, in short it seems that we have had success. As we move to the
new year, I intend to propose to the board creating a new nationwide public relations campaign designed to feature
individual members. Such a campaign is useful in convincing congress, regulators and state legislatures of our relevance
and purpose. I hope to see each of you at the upcoming Michigan convention and that we have a productive mid-term
board meeting. Again, thank you for allowing me to serve you in this role. Let’s finish out 2019 with a bang!

                        – Lisa Turley, 3 Vice President
As mid-term is quickly approaching I’m reminded of the passing of time and the importance of
purpose. It’s easy to be so busy working so many angles and juggling many responsibilities that we
miss the mark of our target. The same applies to our associations of which we belong. Our association
is thoughtful and mindful in our direction as it relates to cost, engagement, and the quality product
that we offer our individual members and state associations. Most recently we targeted our state
associations in a nationwide conference as a way to communicate and listen to what is important to
our legislation affecting our state associations and offer our national presence and identify our assets
and deficiencies so we can be strong together and provide support. To all the state presidents and/or legislative chairs
who participated, thank you! As we purpose back to our legislative roots, looking forward to gaining momentum and
increased participation from our states. Humbled to serve, Lisa.
