Here you will update your contact information – business name, website (exclude http://), phones – office, toll-free and
fax (use only ###-###-#### format and similar for international), address, and other contact information (cell phone,
email, etc. also find when your dues expire, and can renew before, or within 30 days after your expiration date. You can
also use your Member Profile credentials to register and pay for NCISS events online.
Online is fast and secure encryption – no credit card information is shared with NCISS. You can
choose to auto-renew annually, and the encrypted information is store by the payment processing
vendor. Your paid invoice will be automatically emailed. If you register for an event, the event details
are also automatically emailed.
Update Your Member Bio / Directory Information!
Here you will update the information which may be visible in your online and interactive digital directory profile. This
includes your profile photo, banner image for your profile page, and social media links. You can also add a text based
biography. Please note – the next box – “Business Directory” – is not used by NCISS – only the Member Profile is used.
Update Your Member Options, View Histories, and Forums
Under “Member Options” you will update your credit card payment information (which is encrypted and not visible to
any person or entity), setup auto-renewal, etc. Under “View Histories” you can view any transaction made with NCISS –
from membership dues to event registrations and payments. The “Forums” section are the listserves and is
administrative only.
Update Your Member Profile Interests (Specialties)!
Under the “Website Functions” you will see a hyperlink for “Interests” to click. Here you will update the Specialties you
want persons using the Find an Expert function to find you using specialties. It is best to be focused on 3-5 areas; more is
not better as those searching either do not use a specialty to search, or can use only one and will pick the best for their
needs. For example, someone looking for an investigator or security professional may choose Criminal Defense vs a
certification specialty they are not aware of and will find in your profile. Also, these specialty show up in search results –
When your profile appears in the results, if you list more than 3-5 they will not see your potentially most important
specialties.
