Members,
On behalf of the Nominating Committee and Board, today would be the day the final slate of candidates
for elections to your Board would be announced. Unfortunately, this is not such an announcement.
Per NCISS President Andrea Orozco's message, below, the Board has taken the unprecedented and
prudent decision to postpone the Annual Meeting scheduled for 05/06/2020 in conjunction with the
SCALI conference at Myrtle Beach.
Of related importance are the elections held at the Annual Meeting. With the postponement of the
meeting, so too are the elections. The Board has been working to find a solution to these
unprecedented issues, and must also comply with our Bylaws. The Bylaws allow for elections only in-
person at the Annual Meeting. This, and other important issues, are matters the Board is continuing to
review and will advise members. This would include the new date for the Annual Meeting and elections,
which may coincide with the Mid-Term Meeting (in conjunction with the Arizona association - AALPI -
scheduled for 09/18, and 09/19-09/20 respectively... mark your calendars now). Any decisions by the
Board will be announced at that time.
In accordance with the Bylaws, those terms expiring (Officers 1-year; and 2-years for Directors for
Regions 4-6 and two At Large) are extended to the next Annual Meeting. The current slate of candidates
for these positions will be held, and new announcements will be made and the final slate announced 30
days before the next scheduled Annual Meeting.
