Perris Records just re-released your ‘Irrelevant’ CD is there any bonus tracks? Photo by: Ron Boudreau
Yes actually there is. We decided to take off the cover of the Sex Pisols song EMI which was on the original release of
Irrelevant, and give a pre Capitol demo recording of the song White Lies/Black Truth from 1989.
What videos from the ‘Irrelevant’ release can you find on YouTube and are you changing them in anyway?
The singles and videos for that album were 20 Something and Dive. We won’t be changing them at all, however there are
some fan made videos out there specifically one for the song 20 Something which I actually like better. HAHA
How did the press & fans respond to this ‘Irrelevant’ release compared to your previous “Doin’ The Nasty”?
Well....some people were a little miffed that we didn’t stay in the same ‘Glam Party mode’ genre, but things were different.
We were in a darker place as people due to all of the bullshit surrounding us and our industry. The album was definitely a
reflection of what was going on in our lives at that moment in time.
Some of our greatest moments were touring in the U.S. with Yngwie Malmsteen, alot of shenanigans that tour. But musically
What was some of the highlights of the band?
speaking, performing and hanging out in some legendary venues with some of our heroes were definitely highlights. I mean
the Metallica boys had seen us play numerous times when they were in Toronto as well as the original GnR.
How would you describe to someone what they would have seen at a Slik Toxik show?
High energy and intensity. We were much heavier live, which is why we were able to play shows with artists like Overkill.
Slik Toxik appeared in a documentary about Canada’s legendary Hard Rock Club The Gasworks. What stories do
you have about playing or hanging out at that club.
