Interview with Danny Whaley, Mick O’Brien & Kevin Agosta

Your band has a new single called “Get Out - Run” Please tell us the story behind the lyrics.
DW: This is the tale of fighting the demons that have control over you, your actions, and your
pursuits, the things you serve instead of what you really want to do with your life. The song
relates to us on so many levels; alcohol that takes your time, your money, your life and
consumes your dreams with lies and emptiness. It can relate to drugs or any other person,
place or thing that stops you from being who you want to be. The question is; what do I do to
get out of this mess? Get up, Get out, don’t turn around and RUN!

You also have a video out for the single “Get Out - Run” now who edited it and directed it for you?
DW: Kevin “KA” Agosta our drummer was the mastermind behind the video.
     Check it out here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsQN3NlVxbI
MO: KA had the vision and inspiration for the video. It comes from our personal experiences. It’s a very deep song emotionally.
He was the visionary behind the video from beginning to end.

Do you have more songs that will be recorded soon for maybe an EP release or any more singles?
DW: Absolutely- we have a new song called “Out of Control” that is on deck and a few more ideas right behind it.
KA: Yes we have more songs that are in the works. An EP is a possibility as well but we will see. Just having fun with all of this right now.

If someone asks you what bands do you sound like, who would you mention?
DW: I hear from people that are just listening to us for the first time say we are like Motley Crue, Skid Row, and Poison. I just hear Lypswitch,
David Love (Original Bass Player and Songwriter) with our older music was influenced by many styles and bands- he wrote music that moved
him and said what he wanted to say. He wrote songs that I loved to listen to and love to play. Today, Mick and KA are now writing killer music
and I am writing lyrics that have meaning to what we are surrounded with daily. It was and still is a blast! I wish David Love was not so busy
with his photography business to contribute, but we will welcome him back anytime in the future. All is good!

Ok a flashback question. You’re back in Hollywood 1989 what was it like to be in that scene on a Friday or Saturday night?
DW: Magic- There was such an excitement and quest for the impossible becoming possible. Lypswitch came ready to learn, to work, and
to play every opportunity and we loved every minute live! Words can’t describe the moments and the scene, 1000’s of rockers and hot girls
all over the Sunset Strip going from club to club, party to party and we were lucky enough to be in the middle of it all with so many amazing
     bands!
MO: The Strip was still crazy in ‘89. We were always down there on the weekends networking and handing out flyers. We had a lot of wild
times with lots of friends and other guys in bands. There was a camaraderie among the bands. We usually ended up at The Rainbow or Ten
Masa Sushi Bar by the end of the night. Great memories for sure.

What was your favorite club in Hollywood to perform at and why?
DW: Whisky a Go Go; hands down. They were good to us, the stage was awesome, the sound was incredible, it was all ages then and now,
and it was where all the trailblazers for Rock paved the way for bands like us to have an opportunity to fight for our dreams. Oh yeah and it
was FAMOUS!!! We were talking the other day and I believe we played there 26 times!
KA: The Whisky it had the best sound and it’s just legendary with all of the people that have played there over the years.
MO: The Whisky. Hands down. The club has an iconic history of famous bands playing on that stage and we were fortunate enough to have
been on the same stage. And Vicky was really cool to us. We owe her a big thank you for believing in us and getting us on good shows.

Thank you for taking time for this interview and any last words to the fans?
DW: Please like and subscribe on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, etc.- Chat with us, leave comments and let us know where you are
listening from. We are discussing playing gigs in the future and we want to go where we are wanted! We really appreciate all the interest, sup-
port and are so grateful for people that enjoy what we are doing and what we did.
KA: Thank you for contacting us for this interview Tom. Check us out online at https://www.lypswitch.com for more info.
MO: We are blessed to still be doing this and are very grateful that people still listen to us and are inspired by our music. Thank you!
