    VOODOO MOONSHINE

Hello Gregg Lee from PAISTY JENNY and welcome to Rocknation. Congrats
to your new CD titled “18 Days IN Weed”. Where did you record the music at?
Hey Tom!! Thanks for having us. We recorded it in Weed, California right in the
middle of the Emerald Triangle. Loud Palace was an old movie theatre converted
into a sound stage and studio by multi-platinum producer Sylvia Massy. It was a
very cool experience being tucked away in this tiny town for 18 days, waking up
every morning with a view of Mount Shasta outside our window. Incidentally the
adjoining apartment where we stayed is the same place where the infamous
“Haunting of Carnie Phillips” took place. You can check that out on the A&E
Network. I slept in the same as bed as Carnie for 18 nights, but saw no ghosts. LOL
You pulled in some heavy weight producer’s please tell us about that.
We were lucky to be referred to Sylvia Massy by our radio promoter at the time Barry Lyons. Sylvia Massy has produced all kinds of amazing records/
bands like Tool’s Undertow, System of a Down, and Sevendust just to name a few. Sylvia really brought out some qualities in my voice that I may have not
found on my own. Michael Beck has been a lifelong friend and produced our previous EP “Head in a Haze.” He’s probably most noted for Jake E Lee’s
Red Dragon Cartel. Several years back, our first-ever radio release ANYTHING was produced by Beck. The song entered the FMQB ACC at #3 for most
station adds, second to Nickelback. It hit #90 in the nation on that chart. Needless to say Massy and Beck were an awesome team!! Sylvia is also a
collector of vintage gear so many pieces used on this recording have a rich history. For example the 1972 Neve 8038 console from the B Room of historic
Sound City in LA, recorded Sheryl Crow’s biggest hits, as well as Queens of the Stoneage, Lenny Kravitz and dozens of other greats. The TelefunkenU47
vocal mic was used by Trent Reznor, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, and Prince. The low end is from an Ampeg rig originally built as a prototype for the
    Rolling Stones.

If you had to tell someone what your “18 Days IN Weed” music sounded like, what bands would you mention?
If I had to put a label on it I’d say Velvet Revolver, Shinedown and Seether are familiar comparisons, with the roots of Motley Crue and GNR. But I’m sure
others would say something completely different. We like to say were a dirty rock band with something to say, but I think our sound really evolved beyond
that on this record. It’s a little less raucous and a little more polished. In my opinion the new single HIGH evokes a bit of an Enuff Z’Nuff vibe on the
chorus, floating you into another place altogether.

Your second single “CRIMINAL” rose to #54 MEDIABASE Active Rock Indie Label Report and was submitted to, and qualified for the 56th
Grammy Awards. Please tell us about that and how it happened.
Radio has been really good to Paisty Jenny and I’m very grateful for that. CRIMINAL took off really well. Tim Binder at New Ocean Media has been
awesome at getting us connected in that world too. LET IT GO from this CD broke the top 100 as well and the new single HIGH is hovering around #93
on the same chart. Several years ago, I qualified to be a voting member of the Recording Academy (Grammy’s) so as such I was able to submit
CRIMINAL. While it didn’t get nominated, it was accepted in the preliminary voting rounds for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best
Rock Song, Best Metal Performance, and Best Rock Song. We’re gonna see if we can get some attention with HIGH and maybe our ballad RUN TO ME
    this time around.
What bands have you shared the stage with?
We’ve been lucky to rock-out with a lot of many our heroes multiple times. A short list would include: My Darkest Days (3 times), Buckcherry, Saving Abel
(3), Kid Rock, Otherwise (3), Cavo (3) and Fuel. Some 80’s notables would be Brett Michaels (3) and Vince Neil (3), Firehouse (13), Slaughter (6),
Skid Row (6), Lita Ford (3), Foreigner, Kip Winger, Ratt and Cinderella on the Rock Never Stops tour, Jackyl (12), Enuff Z’Nuff, L.A. Guns (11).

Are you planning any shows this summer?
At this point touring is not at the top of our list, but we are putting together a few dates with some
of the radio stations that have been supporting HIGH. You can expect to see us in the Quad Cities
and Chicago market yet this summer.

Thank you for taking time for this interview. Any last words to the fans?
Just want to say thanks for your continued support all these years. You can pick up our tunes at all
the usual digital locations and physical copies are available at CDBaby.com. Hope to see your faces
on the front row again soon, and Stay Paisty!!
