GEORGE LYNCH
so Joe from Rat Pak Records arranged to have us do this. Lynch
Mob is on hiatus right now so it’s hard to say, beyond this
unplugged EP, what is in store for that band in the future.
Rocknation: You have a 70’s funk band called “The Infidels”.
Please tell us a little about that, like who is is the band.
George: Well, I don’t know if I’d call it “70’s” but it is a heavier
instrumental funk jam ensemble. The band is Poncho and Sal
the rhythm section from “WAR” Eric Burdens old band. There is
definitely an east LA lowrider vibe to it...heavy on the percussion,
huge Nast grooves...we’re just having lots of fun with very little
pressure...we work together when we can... We will be releasing a
song a month for a year on iTunes and amazon .. Digital releases
only. This way we can spread the record out over a year and give
fans a new song to look forward to every month.
Rocknation: Your new band KXM features Ray Luzier from Korn
on drums and Dug Pinnick from King’s X on bass and vocals.
Please tell us about what we will be seeing in 2013 from this
band..
George: Well, we wrote and recorded the record over an 8 day
span at Sound MTN and my studio. We’re completely done with
4 songs and working on finishing the rest of the record. We have
a begins the scenes, making of the record video in the can and
we will be doing a music video for what we imagine will be the
first single “Faith is a Room with many Doors”. It’s the band of
a lifetime for me... Doug could sing the phone book and make it
gospel and Rays not too shabby either. We have a lot of fun when
were working together which is a bonus.
Rocknation: Any funny stories or encounters you had while on
tour you can tell us about?
George: KXM was doing a photo shoot and we taking a last shot
with the crew and band. One of the crew was named Doug as well
(but he’s white) . The camera mentioned that Doug was looking
too white in the shot...and of course, not knowing he was
referring to other Doug, thought he was talking about Doug
Pinnick (who’s black).. It was an ice breaker.
Rocknation: What is some of the music you listen to now?
George: Jesus. Everything from Little John Estes and Sun House
to Animals as Leaders and Atoms for Peace... Classic Rock, Funk
and Soul, Country and Bluegrass that’s got smokin pickets....you
name it. I’m not locked into any genre.
Rocknation: What plans do you have for 2013?
Interview by Tom Mathers George: Finish Shadowtrain, T&N, the Infidels and KXM, tour for
6 weeks in Europe and South America, build as many of my Mr.
Scary guitars as time allows... Take care of my family and take
Rocknation: Hello George Lynch and welcome to Rocknation. You care of my music.

the board. I mean who would be against social and economic
justice, righting the wrongs of the past and listening to some great
music? Lol. The challenge were facing is increasing awareness of
the film/album and the issues it deals with.
Rocknation: Please tell us about any details for the second T&N
record. Can you name any of the guest vocalist lined up?
George: Jeff Pilson, Mick Brown and myself have recorded basics
for about half of the next T&N record which will be the follow up the
“Slave to the Empire”. We’re just trying to find the time to get
together and work on writing and recording the balance of the
record. The only vocalists we have tentatively for the 2nd record
are Sash Jordan and Michael Sweet and possibly the singer in
Opeth. We have our wish list though and will be reaching out to our
friends when the time is right.
Rocknation: Are you going to record any new T&N music for this
release or all cover songs this time?
George: Half Dokken covers and half new original songs, just like
“Slave to the Empire.
Rocknation: Lynch Mob has an “Unplugged” EP out recorded at the
famous Sugarhill Studios in Houston Texas. How did that come
about and are you planning to record more songs there in the
future?
George: Lynch Mob was in Texas to film the video for “Slow Drag”
