Employers and others DP163.19 The organization may disclose PHI as authorized by and to comply with laws
with Access to PHI relating to workers’ compensation or other similar programs, established by law,
that provide benefits for work‐related injuries or illness without regard to fault.
Employees and others DP163.20 The organization may disclose PHI about a deceased person, without individual
with Access to PHI authorization, to coroners and medical examiners identifying a deceased
person, determining a cause of death, or other duties as authorized by law.
Employees and others DP163.21 The organization may disclose PHI to a government agency or law enforcement
with Access to PHI about a participant, without individual authorization, whom the covered entity
reasonably believes to be perpetuating fraud against that government agency.
