Hatred At Home
By Mark Morowitz, CPA

I think it is important to understand the reason why I believe we
are so hated around the world and at home. The world outside of the
United States sees us as entitled. While foreigners love our tourist
dollars, they despise our attitude. We are viewed as people who
demand what we want when we want it. Who can argue with them?
Look at the past nine months of the pandemic era. We have been told
to wear masks that will help keep us safe and help us keep others
safe. 70% of Americans believe in wearing masks but unfortunately,
the balance believes that wearing masks makes us weak. They believe
it is an intrusion on our constitutional rights. They want to party because
they are tired of being cooped up in the house. By ignoring the urgings
of our public health officials, the United States has gone from a beacon
of Democracy in the world to a virtual laughingstock. I have begun to
understand why the rest of the world hates us.
