How to Introduce Yourself in Business Situation
Direction: read the following text carefully, and please answer
the questions.
When trying to advance your
career, networking is an important
skill to have. Networking can help
you make important connections
at work and in life. Having a
professional introduction practiced
and ready can help you feel more
prepared in situations such as a
job interview or meeting someone
you admire. A strong professional
introduction can help you make
a positive impression on people you meet throughout your career.
You could be at a job interview, a networking event, or meeting a
new manager or supervisor. A strong professional introduction can
both impress and establish a professional connection with the person
you’re speaking with. These connections can lead to opportunities for
you throughout your career, whether it’s a sale or employment.
How to Make a Professional Introduction
You can use the following steps to introduce yourself professionally:
1. Please include your name and job title.
When introducing yourself, include the information you want the
other person to remember from the conversation: your name and
job title. Your audience may be familiar with your name or industry.
Establishing your position may help explain why you approached
them. For example, if it’s for a job interview, they might have set up a
meeting with you. By providing your name and job title, you confirm
that you are the person with whom they are meeting.
