The Annual General Meeting of
Monklands Sporting Car Club Ltd
The 28th MSCC AGM was held on 16th February 2020. The Commit-
tee members gave updates on each of their respective areas cover-
ing club events, work carried out and required at Forrestburn, visiting
events, membership numbers and finances.
Each year the Committee review any work required at Forrestburn
and as usual some repairs to the tarmac were required. Over the year
in addition to this a new toilet block was purchased to replace the
existing ones which had started to deteriorate badly. The Committee
noted that the new forklift (purchased in 2018) has been invaluable
over the course of the year with Tom Graham continuing to provide
support.
The Chairman thanked the many people who help the club run
smoothly over the year. Many people volunteer but we are lucky with
the number of professionals giving up their time in their professional
capacity such as website and newsletter. Many of the members who
help the club attend the AGM and we would always encourage mem-
bers to come along to understand what they could participate in, or
help out at. At the time of the AGM the Committee hoped to see many
members at events over 2020.
The finances of the club continue to be fairly consistent, with the con-
tinuing support from the MSA grants funding to help with the main-
tenance of Forrestburn, but noting that membership has been at its
highest over the course of the year.
The work of the subcommittee carried out over the year was also dis-
cussed; the Committee have been working on running events at For-
restburn with a view to encouraging new members into Motorsport.
The Committee also discussed the requirement for members to apply
for a Clubmans’ licence noting that this should be able to be applied
for online for those over 18 and on the day when necessary.
As usual, the Chairman closed the meeting with best wishes to all our
club members for a safe season of Motorsport – we wish you the
same.
