Marine Patrol
The Harpswell Marine Patrol works on the water
and the shores of Harpswell. The Marine Patrol
Unit’s (2 Deputies) responsibilities include marine
harvester inspections with a total of 138 bushels
inspected. Shell fish haversting violations resulted
in 14 citations and 124 warnings being issued by
the deputies. The team performed several checks
of coves, landings, and property.
The Sebago Lake Patrol performed several beach
checks, resulting in17 warnings and 188 unsafe
boat operations warnings.
Dive Team
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team is continually
prepared for any underwater emergency or investigation in, but
not limited to, the waters of Cumberland County. The Dive Team
conducted eight, eight (8) hour training sessions throughout the
year. These training sessions are designed to maintain the diver’s
underwater skills, dive equipment integrity and water craft
operation and navigation.

Emergency Services Unit
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit is a highly trained, multi-jurisdictional
team with members hailing from the Sheriff’s Office, Falmouth PD, Gorham PD, South Portland
PD, Westbrook PD, Windham PD and the Cumberland Co. Regional Communications Center. The
Team includes Tactical Operators, Tactical Medics, Marksmen, Negotiators, Support Personnel and
Tactical Communications Officers. Each team member receives at minimum 300 hours of training per year.
