A. All Laptop and Desktop computers will be purchased in the U.S., in collaboration with the Project
team and the IT Department, unless this requirement has been waived by the virtual Chief
Information Officer (vCIO). If Laptops need servicing, they can often be repaired locally if there is
an authorized (by Vysnova vCIO) service center in-country or returned to the IT Department with
a traveler or by international courier service such as DHL or Federal Express.
B. PM must justify which user(s) need a monitor. The IT Department will determine the type, brand,
and specifications to be procured. Depending on project requirements, monitors will either be
purchased in the U.S. and shipped or carried as excess baggage to the field office location or
purchased in-country. For ease of reference and use in determining monitors specifications see
the Vysnova IT Hardware Standards in Annex B.
C. In the case of locally purchased computers, it is often delivered with non-compliant nor
compatible software. Therefore, caution should be exercised when purchasing desktop computers
locally and this should be done in coordination with the IT Department and a reliable IT person on
