GETTING STARTED

One of the greatest challenges of yearbook instruction is that the
curriculum is front-loaded. While most teachers deliver instruction at

a steady pace over the course of the year, yearbook advisers, in an
effort to get production up and running, find themselves covering a vast

majority of the concepts within the first six weeks of instruction, making
minor tweaks and adjustments as they go.

Once production begins, the yearbook adviser moves into the role of
project manager, organizing and running the business. It is critical,

therefore, that the adviser puts systems in place for students to
complete their work themselves, setting them up for success.
