Anne & Dick Flipp Little Canada, Minnesota

Flipp Gardens “A Walk with Nature” is the home of Anne and Dick Flipp. They have 500 or so
different hostas and another 1,000 or so other perennials. There are many trails and paths through
12 gardens, with one featuring an upper bog/filter garden flowing into a stream with waterfalls
ending in a pond that feeds the lower bog/filter. There are sitting areas, a grandchildren’s garden, a
fairy garden, and unique borders which surround some of the plots.

Dick’s favorite hosta is H. ‘Sitting Pretty’ and Anne likes H. ‘Goodness Gracious’. They are longtime
members of the Minnesota Hosta Society and have obtained most of their plants through trades with
a group of 14 friends who exchange hostas twice a year.
