WITH the introduction of an extra house this year it was natural that
competition would be very much keener. We started off well by winning
the Intermediate inter-house swimming carnival at the Manly baths, but
unfortunately we were not able to keep up the good work and had to bow
to Oxley’s superiority in the High School carnival which was held for the
first time in the Langlands Park baths. In the Intermediate carnival. Robin
Driverson and Howard Baker recorded some very good wins and Janice
Coulter and Heather Sands performed well to win the under 15 and under
I6 championships in the High School carnival, these girls between them win
ning five events for a total of thirty-two points.
In Intermediate basketball. Cunningham was superior in winning the
