from the flowers. Whilst she was holding and resting her arm on a
branch of a Asoka Tree, she gave birth to the prince from her right
side.

FULL MOON DAY OF MAY
It was a full moon day of May in the year 623BC. The child prince, having
came painlessly from the Queen’s right side, immediately took seven
steps, a lotus flower would blossom with each step he took. He then
turned toward the four directions and proclaimed “Aggo ‘ham asmi
lokassa ……….” which means “Chief, am I in this world”.
