Town of Luang Prabang
Phra Bang Buddha is the National Treasure of Laos
Year of Inscription: 1995
The ancient town of Luang Prabang situated in northern
Laos, was the former Royal Capital, the literal translation
of the name of the city from Laos to English is “Royal
Buddha Image”.
The historic town contains French colonial architecture
and 35 Buddhist temples also known as “wats”. The city
also contains the Phra Bang Buddha Image. The Phra 站⽴的坡邦佛
Bang Buddha, with palms facing outwards is the most Standing Phra Bang Buddha
(寮国 Laos: 1998)
sacred and important image of Buddha in Laos.
