               5.0  General Definitions and Acronyms

                    5.1  Scope
                          These VSP 2018 Construction Guidelines provide definitions to clarify commonly
                          used terminology in this manual. The definition section is organized alphabetically.

                          Terms defined in section 5.2 are identified in the text of these guidelines by
                          CAPITAL LETTERS. For example: section 6.2.5 states “Provide  READILY
                          REMOVABLE DRIP TRAYS for condiment-dispensing equipment.” READILY
                          REMOVABLE and DRIP TRAYS are in CAPITAL LETTERS and are defined in
                          section 5.2.


                    5.2  Definitions
                          Accessible: Exposed for cleaning and inspection with the use of simple tools
                          including a screwdriver, pliers, or wrench. This definition applies to use in FOOD
                          AREAS of the vessel only.

                          Activity pools: An indoor or outdoor RECREATIONAL WATER FACILITY that
                          provides flowing water without any additional features. This includes wave pools,
                          catch pools, open water slides, lazy rivers, action rivers, vortex pools, continuous
                          surface pools, etc.

                          Adequate: Sufficient in number, features, or capacity to accomplish the purpose  for
                          which something is intended and to such a degree that there is no unreasonable  risk
                          to health or safety.

                          Air-break: A piping arrangement in which a drain from a fixture, appliance, or
                          device discharges indirectly into another fixture, receptacle, or interceptor at a  point
                          below the flood-level rim (Figure 1).
