4. Carry out a second titration by adding this time all the number of mls
of the sugar solution used in the first titration, but1 ml less, and boil the
solution. Add 4 drops of the indicator and continue titration drop-wise
(without removing the flame) until the accurate end point is reached (the
color of the methylene blue indicator disappears). This exact titration
shod be completed in a total boiling time of three minutes (to avoid re-
oxidation of the solution by air).
5. Repeat the above procedure until two readings are the same or do not
differ one from the other by more than 0.2 ml. Take the mean of these
two readings to obtain the accurate E.P.
6. Calculate the percentage of the total sugar in the solution.
