Snooze Food Definitions
It is important to note that Snooze food does not focus solely on any one of these definitions.
Rather, Snooze food is a thoughtful combination of these various terms, practices and factors,
and THAT combination is what makes our sourcing program responsible.
86’d Ingredient: We’ve researched the ingredient and the effects it can have on human health and the
environment, and we do not want it in our restaurants. This list mainly consists of artificial ingredients,
preservatives, colors and chemicals.
Responsible Sourcing: Is considering our obligation to the wellbeing of our Land, Communities,
Guests and Snooze with the selection of ingredients we bring into our restaurants.
Snooze Approved: Snooze has researched and tested this product and has direct knowledge of the
production methods to ensure it meets our people, planet, profit, pancakes model. If it’s Snooze Approved,
you know quite a bit of thoughtfulness, intention and excitement went into the selection of this product.
Sustainable Agriculture: The production of food, fiber, or other plant or animal products using farming
techniques that protect the environment, public health, human communities, and animal welfare. This
form of agriculture enables us to produce healthful food without compromising future generations' ability
to do the same. (sustainabletable.org)
CRAVEable: Delish. Lip smackin’ good. Pleasing to the taste buds. However you want to say it. It’s … good!
USDA Organic: Organic agriculture produces products using methods that preserve the environment and
avoid most synthetic materials, such as pesticides and antibiotics. USDA organic standards describe how
farmers grow crops and raise livestock and which materials they may use. (usda.gov)

the lens of our people, planet, profit and pancakes decision making model and have concluded that the
