It was a hot summer day in our small coastal town of Dominical on SPORTS - DOMINICAL Y ALREDEDORES
the Costa Ballena. When we entered the town, we could sense that
something special was in motion. We started the January Art Walk
organized by the Domi Art Association and the first of its kind with a
refreshing cold coconut. We strolled along the main street and then
the beach promenade to absorb art in many ways. All Dominical was
an art gallery, and we followed the traces, created by local businesses,
featuring Costa Rican and international artists.

In conversation with the exhibitors, above all, it became clear that
there is a great hunger for more opportunities to present art and to
draw even more people under the spell of Dominical`s unique beauty.
“The town gallery allows more people to visit the galleries, get to
know the artists and admire their creations. “The greater is the
interest; the more pieces are made,” was a statement of an artist
that depicts the wish for the region in the future.

The connection between artists, businesses, and the community
gives the event a higher perspective: a place for cultural exchange
           and conscious living.

At Hona Wellness Beach House, the very community-involved
founder/owner Carley Montgomery, welcomed us with tasty
appetizers and fruity bowls. Vibrant was the environment, vibrant
people from all over the world chatting with each other.

Let’s hope that Chanti Lee Mironuck, Chia Ortegon Art, Joseph
Gilland, Hazel Sibaja Abaron, Laguz, Ruby Kim, Kevin Guerro &
Michael Fernández, and all the others who were part of the art walk
will partake, as well, in the Art Festival, coming up this 18th & 19th
           April.

Comments Carley Montgomery: “The festival will be dedicated to
the memory of Greg Escalante, Californian champion of lowbrow art,
passionate surfer, and who was one of my best friends. We have
invited his family and friends invited to come and honor his memory
           with us!”

                                                                                                                            35
