SKIN DISEASES
Management:
Rest: This gives body a chance to fight the infection.
The area of the body involved should be elevated as high as
possible.
Hygienic practices as( hand washing, daily bath,. wound should
be covered with a gauze dressing ,bed linen, towels and clothing
should be cleaned separately from other family members while the
infection is healing).
Analgesics such as paracetamol.
The course of antibiotics should be completed. It include
Flucloxacillin, benzylpenicillin, or ampicillin/amoxicillin.
Regular follow-up till complete improvement occur.
II- Viral infection
1. Herpes Simplex
Herpes is a common viral infection. It causes oral herpes - cold sores or
fever blisters, and genital herpes - genital sores or sores usually below
the waist.
Types of herpes simplex viruses:
Herpes Simplex Type 1 (HSV-1) occurs above the waist
Herpes Simplex Type 2 (HSV-2) occurs below the waist
Forms of herpes simplex:
1- Primary infection:
Which occur in infants and children who have no immunity. It is
characterized by (Painful, wide spread vesicle and erosion involved skin
and mucous membrane. Gingivo-stomatitis (2-5 years age),
vulvovaginitis……etc.
