COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING

Goals of Healthy People 2020 by U.S.Department of Health
and Human Services [USDHHS]

1- Attain high-quality, longer lives free of preventable disease, disability,
injury, and premature death.

2- Achieve health equity, eliminate disparities, and improve the health of
all groups.

3- Create social and physical environments that promote good health for
all.

4- Promote quality of life, healthy development and healthy behaviors
across all life stages.

Community health

This consists of all the measures taken to promote the physical,
mental and social well-being of individuals and families and the local

community. It includes the components of primary health care i.e.
sufficient clean water and food; breathing clean air; living in a dry, clean
house; disposal of harmful and unhealthy waste; elimination of germ
and bacteria; Education of the young; prevention and curing of illness;
Providing for adequate mental, physical and social recreation.
