Well I was only 7 years old at the time
.they both saw something in me . so
the first an opportunity for me to shine
on my own was a gig at Texas Tech
University for the Latino sorority.
I remember them talking to some man
while we were setting up for the gig. I started the show. I recall and everyone taking
notice that they left the area and didnt just seeing only about 6 pictures and everyone
return. I asked for them and the people sitting in the front, taking pictures and clapping
gentlemen said he didnt know where so I thought that’s whom I very hard for me, that I
they went.but ask me while we waited was singing too. But when almost fell of the stool and
on them if I could play and sing some the lights came on I was off the stage. But the
songs for them. I said yes so he set me shock to see a standing gentleman caught me.
on a stool gave me a microphone and I room only over 100 people
I got paid 500.00 in check just for me. For a 45 minute set
.I was very happy because I had younger brothers and
sisters that I was going to buy them candy and anything
else they wanted. To this day I still feel that excitement.
Little to say at the age of 9 the ladies enlisted me in a
talent contest at South Plains College. Which I didnt know
till I got there. I won 2 place with a 20,000 dollar Music
Scholarship, After the show I didnt know that I had Just
competed against Music Majors.
During jr high ,I join and performed with many local bands
just wanting to learn everything . Blues, Country, Tejano ,
Rock ,Jazz etc. During my jr high years I also joined School
Band at Matthews Jr High School while there I could never
read music .but if anyone would play a part I could mock
them no matter what instrument.
