SUPPPORT YOUR
LOCAL STORE
By V. Morgan
There are an estimated 1,400
independently owned record stores left
in the United States. This number has
been steadily increasing in recent years,
as more and more people are
rediscovering the joy of buying and
listening to physical music.
Record stores offer a unique experience
that cannot be replicated by online
retailers. They are places where people
can come together to share their love of
music, and to discover new artists and
genres. They are also important cultural
institutions that help to preserve the
history of music.
Record Store Day is an annual event held on the third
Saturday of April to support independent record stores. It
was first held in 2007 and has since grown to become a
global event, with participating stores in over 50 countries.
On Record Store Day, independent record stores release
exclusive releases, host special events, and offer discounts
on records. The event is a chance for fans to support their
local record stores and to discover new music.
Record Store Day is also a chance to celebrate the culture
of the record store. Record stores are more than just places
to buy music. They are community hubs where people can
come together to share their love of music.
If you are a fan of music, I encourage you to support your
local record store on Record Store Day. It is a great way to
support a local business and to discover new music.
Here are some of the things you can do to support your
