When I think of artists, I think of them as
storytellers, especially considering how
performers embody many personal and
individual stories at once. Each member
of the audience is amidst their own
personal journey, and they make way to
these communal spaces to share with
one
another their beauty, style, and grace.
Sometimes it’s for relaxation and
unwinding, other times it’s a bit more
personal. Release. Healing. Growth.
When you develop an appreciation and
fondness for an artist’s productions, you
become invested in their stories at a
different frequency thereby allowing
them to influence yours.
I asked Azzecca if she thinks of herself
and her music as telling a story, and does
she think music can heal and soothe.
“I definitely think music can and should
tell a story. The memories that I have
attached to music are some of the
strongest ones and I think that’s because
of the impact music has on our

I don’t think that every track you make has to be an emotional journey by any means,
sometimes music is just meant to be fun and carefree. I do think, however, that as a DJ it is our
job to tell a story through our sets. The best DJ sets are the ones that take you on a journey
through different energy frequencies and emotions.
