BUILDING. “LOOK!” AIDEN SQUINTED. AT THE TOP OF THE BUILDING, HE COULD
JUST MAKE OUT A FIGURE STANDING ON THE ROOF. THE FIGURE WAS TALL AND
CLOAKED IN SWIRLING GREY MIST, HIS FACE HIDDEN BENEATH A DARK HOOD.
BUT WHAT CAUGHT AIDEN’S ATTENTION MOST WAS THE ENERGY COMING
FROM HIM—IT FELT COLD, EMPTY, LIKE ALL THE HAPPINESS AROUND HIM WAS
BEING SUCKED AWAY. “THAT’S DR. GLOOM?” AIDEN WHISPERED. LUCKY
NODDED. “YUP, THAT’S HIM. AND IT LOOKS LIKE HE’S ABOUT TO START
SPREADING HIS GLOOM OVER THE WHOLE CITY.” AIDEN FELT A LUMP FORM IN
HIS THROAT. “I DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW TO FIGHT HIM, LUCKY! WHAT IF I MESS
UP? WHAT IF I—”
