                                         Q&A

Ross Flora On a deeper note, one of the most pleasant
surprises I’ve found while spending dozens of hours writing,
recording, mixing, and mastering a song like "Home Bound" is
how unexpected meanings can emerge. I lost my mom a little
over a year ago, before this song fell into place. While it didn’t
have any conscious bearing on me while I was recording and
producing it, one night after hours of mixing, a new outlook
dawned on me: this song is also relevant to my journey to be
reunited with her in heaven. Just like in the song, we’ll be
separated for a while, but she’ll be eagerly waiting to
              welcome me home.
Poze Magazine You're partnering with several
animal rescue organizations to support animals
in need. How did this collaboration come about,
and why is this cause important to you?

Ross Flora With releasing "Home Bound," my team at Dead
Horse Branding and I felt it was a great opportunity to help
shine a light on the many animals in shelters looking for homes
and families of their own. We specifically want to point out the
TN Dachshund Rescue, for those looking for their own Sadie
Mae, and "Home Bound" was premiered live at a fundraiser
here in Nashville benefitting the Philzoia Animal Rescue, Animal
Wellness Foundation, Pasadena Humane Society, and Skydog
Sanctuary—shelters in the Los Angeles area who saved so
many animals during the recent wildfires.
I’ve had many great shelter pets over my life, and every time
I’ve brought one home, it always seemed like they picked me—
like they knew I was their companion and had been waiting on
me to find them. In that regard, I hope the listener sees "Home
              Bound" from a pet’s perspective—that they’ve already found
you and are figuratively making their way to you.

Poze Magazine Music often connects with
people on a deeply emotional level. What
message or feeling do you hope listeners take
              away from "Home Bound"?

Ross Flora I hope listeners are able to experience the
unbridled joy of returning to a loved one that "Home
Bound" conveys. Whether you’re coming back from a tour,
a workday, or just a trip to the grocery store, I hope this
song helps you take a moment to recognize the feeling
that your person or pet is waiting for you.
