Copper Pot Stills at Appleton Estate. Each Appleton Estate
expression is a combination of several types of both pot and
column still rum of varying ages.
Appleton Estate rums are aged using tropical aging,
which is the process by which a rum that is aged for one year
under tropical conditions in Jamaica would have the same
characteristics as a spirit aged for approximately three years in a
cooler climate.
“We have some very key factors. All of our rums are tropical
aged. This means that our rums age three times as fast. Once we
have a number on our package, this means it is the minimum age
of the rum in the bottle. We have no additives in our Appleton
Estate rums. So our rums are pure. So if you want to be pure,
drink Appleton Estate.”
The sugar cane is turned into molassses, which is used to make
Appleton Estate Jamaican rums.
