                                    Supporting you 57A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens. The lens is inside the eye, just behind the iris (the coloured part of the eye) and the pupil (the whole in the middle of the coloured part of the eye). With age this can get cloudy and can cause symptoms like:%u2022 Blurred vision%u2022 Dulling the vision%u2022 Glare%u2022 Shadows in the vision%u2022 Colours losing definition%u2022 Glasses prescription changing lotsCataracts are usually removed by surgery where the cloudy natural lens is taken out, and an artificial lens is put in to replace it. It usually takes about half an hour and is done under local anesthetic. Cataracts are very common. The chance of developing cataract goes up steadily with age, and we also know that the risk of developing glaucoma gets higher as people get older, so it is not surprising that many people are living with both eye conditions.
