                                    60 Insight Magazine Winter 2025 Supporting youThe trouble putting in eye dropsDeborah Bott, Optometrist, PhD student (City St George%u2019s, University of London), Liz Ball, Health Information Manager, and Helen Doe, Helpline ManagerGlaucoma UK members and staff recently participated in a focus group to explore ways to help people use their eye drops effectively. Around 15 people joined the session, including individuals living with glaucoma and eyecare specialists. This provided a range of perspectives on a common challenge: putting in eye drops. The session aimed to develop a tool to help professionals identify why someone might struggle with this essential part of their treatment.Meet the researcherDeborah Bott, a PhD researcher at City St George%u2019s, University of London, leads this vital research. Her work focuses on improving how people use eye drops, possibly with the help of new technology.
