The information from the ear then has to be processed by the Speech Processing System (B) appropriately. This system of processing is complex. If there is a problem with this system or, as is more likely, if this system is immature, then the information will not be processed accurately. This could lead to an incorrect sound code being stored at C. %u2022 Explain that if the sound code in the %u2018word store%u2019 C is incorrect then every time the child wants to say that word, the incorrect code will be accessed, incorrect information will be sent to the articulators at D and the child will articulate the sound incorrectly.%u2022 Explain that this session will focus on children with phonological delay.9.4.1 Other speech disorders%u2022 There are other speech difficulties and disorders but phonological delay is the most usual and is the difficulty which will be explored during this session.9.5.0.
