Narrative: The Covenant With Many

“That this day, even in this night, the cock shall not crow twice, this day, before that thou {hast
denied me thrice that thou knowest me.”

But Peter spake the more vehemently, said unto him,
“Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee.”
Likewise also said all the disciples. And he said unto them,
“When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye anything?”
             And they said,

             “Nothing.”
             Then he said unto them,
“But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: And he that hath no

“Lord, behold, here are two swords.”

             And he said unto them,
             “It is enough.”
And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also
       followed him.

“Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house
are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go
and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye
may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.”
             Thomas saith unto him,

“Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?”
             Jesus saith unto him,
