Malvika Sinha elevated as RBI ED
Malvika Sinha is likely to be named executive director of the Reserve Bank of India, succeeding B P
Kanungo who has taken over as deputy governor. Sinha is currently principal chief general manager
in the department of co-operative bank supervision. As executive director, she is likely to be in charge
of foreign exchange, internal debt and the department of government and bank accounts, the de-
partments which were handled by Kanungo.

Kishor Kharat appointed as Indian Bank chief
Kishor Kharat has assumed charge as the Managing Director and CEO of Indian Bank. Prior to this, he
was MD and CEO of IDBI Bank. During the tenure, he also served as the Chairman of IDBI Capital
Market Services, IDBI Asset Management and IDBI Trusteeship Services. Kharat was also on the Board
of Directors of IDBI Federal Life Insurance as well as Exim Bank. Kishor Kharat

Mahesh Jain to head IDBI
IDBI Bank has appointed Mahesh Kumar Jain as its new Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer.
Jain will head IDBI Bank for the remaining period of his current tenure or until further orders, which-
ever is earlier, IDBI Bank added. The appointment will be effective from the date Jain will assume
charge of the bank.

Karnataka Bank has promoted Shri Balachandra Y V as General Manager
Karnataka Bank has promoted Shri Balachandra Y V as General Manager from the post of Deputy GM. Shri Balachandra
Y V, native of Yadagere in N. R. Pura Taluk, Chikkamagaluru District, is a Post Graduate in Commerce,
a Fellow member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), New Delhi and a Certified Asso-
ciate of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (CAIIB).
He started his career in the Bank in 1995 as Manager. In 1997 he was designated as Company Secre-
tary. He was elevated to cadre of Chief Manager in 2004 and Assistant General Manager in 2008. In
2011, he was promoted as Deputy General Manager and continued to head the Bank's Secretarial
Department at HO. In January 2015, he assumed additional responsibilities as Head of the Bank's In-

spection & Audit & IS Audit Department along with Secretarial Department.
Karnataka Bank has promoted Shri Nagaraja Rao B as General Manager
Karnataka Bank has promoted Shri Nagaraja Rao B as General Manager from the post of Deputy
GM. Shri Nagaraja Rao B, native of Baikady, Brahmavar, is a Graduate in Science and a Certified
Associate of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (CAIIB).
He started his career in the Bank in 1984 and has rich experience spanning over three decades at the
operational level. Upon his elevation to the cadre of Chief Manager in 2007, Shri Nagaraja Rao B
headed the Bank's Mumbai - Fort and Mumbai - Overseas Branches. He was elevated to the position
of Assistant General Manager in 2011 and headed the Bank's Mumbai - Corporate Finance Branch.

Shri Nagaraja was promoted as Deputy General Manager in April 2013 and has been heading the
Bank's Mumbai Region since then.
