United Bank of India ATM starts dispensing Rs. 200 Note

Reserve Bank of India has launched Rs 200 note on 25th August 2017. Since then the customers have been receiving the
note from the bank branches. However, the same was
not available on the ATMs as it is a new denomination
altogether and require ATM calibration.

United Bank of India, headquartered in Kolkata, having
ATM network of more than 2000 ATMs, has become the
very first bank to configure its ATM for dispensing Rs 200
Note completing the change at all levels. ATM located
in eZone in 11 Hemanta Basu Sarani, adjacent to Bank's
OCH Street Branch and Head Office of the Bank is now
dispensing Rs 200 note. The bank has informed that this
ATM has been made operational as a pilot one and other
ATMs would be enabled for the said service in a phased
manner.
A typical ATM has 4 boxes, known as cassettes, which
are equipped to handle different denominations of notes.
Normally the ATMs are configured to dispense Rs 100, Rs 500 & Rs 2000 notes. As the new RS 200 note is a new
denomination and the dimension of the note is different from other existing notes, thorough technical change and testing
was required at multiple level including ATM machine, ATM Switch and Core Banking System. It may be noted that the
industry has seen such major calibration during demonetization when all the ATMs were configured to dispense new Rs
500 and Rs 2000 notes.

World Habitat Day 2017

celebrations

Shri Hardeep S Puri, Hon'ble Union Minister (Housing &
Urban Affairs) inaugurated the award winning paintings by
underprivileged children who had participated in the
painting competition organized by HUDCO as part of World
Habitat Day 2017 celebrations. The work of art by the
children was explained by Dr. M Ravi Kanth, CMD HUDCO.
The paintings were well appreciated by the visiting
dignitaries.
