United Bank of India Observes Vigilance Awarencess Week
In terms of directive of Central Vigilance Commission, Vigilance Awareness Week 2017 is being observed by United Bani
of India from 30th October 2017 to 4th November 2017.
Shri Arun Kumar Verma, Chief Vigilance Officer intimated
that the theme selected by Central Vigilance Commission
for Vigilance Awareness Week 2017 is “My Vision -
Corruption Free India”.
As part of outreach activities sensitizing the common mass
against the menance of corruption, a “Walkathon” was
organised on 1st November 2017 with participation of
employees from Head Office, Kolkata (South) Region and
Kolkata (North) Region. The walkathon was led by Shri
Ashok Kumar Pradhan, Executive Director, Shri Arun Kumar
Verma, Chief Vigilance Officer, General Managers and
Executives from Head Office and Regional Offices. The

employees including several lady officials, holding banners,
leading the “Walkathon”
placards and hand outs against corruption.
As informed by Shri Arun Kumar Verma, Chief Vigilance Officer, other outreac activities are being conducted during the
week. These include organising two gram sbha meetings in each rural and semi-urban branches in bank and also in four
Regional Rural Banks. Debates, Seminars, workshops, quiz competitions are also conducted in schools and colleges across
the country.
IDBI Bank initiates ‘Project Nishchay’ – ‘Resolve to succeed’
IDBI Bank has launched ‘Project Nishchay’ in partnership with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to accelerate its
turnaround programme and improve financial performance. The project will be led by senior management at IDBI Bank
along with BCG.
Speaking on the partnership, IDBI Bank Managing Director and CEO Mahesh Kumar Jain said “BCG will assist us to identify
areas for cost containment and revenue maximization leading to sustainable growth and profitability of the Bank. With
the support from our consulting partner, we hope to identify and address existing gaps, capitalize on core strengths and
improve existing products and processes.”
Coordinating across multitude of initiatives, the Bank will focus on four key areas - revenue enhancement, cost control
& reduction, asset productivity and overall program management in consultation with BCG.
HDFC Bank launches online payment gateway in association with
Verla Canca Village Panchayat
HDFC Bank has partnered with Verla Canca Village Panchayat to set up an online payment gateway for the residents of
Verla Canca Village. Residents of Verla Canca will now be able to make payments for 4 different types of services online
in a quick and convenient manner, by any debit card, credit card, or netbanking facility, from the comfort of their homes
or offices.
