(a) Matter covered by surveyors preliminary and
final report - A valid licensed Surveyor is handed over
cases with losses exceeding Rs. 20,000. He has to
provide two reports, the preliminary report and the final
report based on his experience, expertise and findings.
The preliminary report provides independent evidence
regarding the cause and the extent of loss and also
certifies compliance by the insured of policy conditions
and warranties. It contains
(i) The date of loss.
(ii) The situation at which the loss occurred and the
details of occupancy at that time.
(iii) The cause of the loss if ascertainable.
(iv) A preliminary estimate of the loss or damage and
any other relevant information.
The final report consists of the name of the insured,
