If the insured will have to bear a proportion of
the increased cost, this should be made known
to him.
(v) The surveyor pays periodical visit to the scene
of the damage to ensure the that all possible steps
are being taken towards speedy resumption of
normal work. He keeps reporting his
observations to the Company as and when
necessary, in particular, on the adequacy or
otherwise, of the estimated loss. He does not
proceed to final adjustment until and unless the
business ceases to be affected by the damage,
lest the interruption extends beyond the
maximum indemnity period.
(vi) When the business resumes its normal course of
action, the surveyor takes up the detailed
examination of the accounts for preparing the final
assessment. He needs the following information
from the insured's accounts :
(a) Turnover and Gross Profit from the final
